Three-dimensional nanoscale imaging by plasmonic Brownian microscopy

Three-dimensional (3D) imaging at the nanoscale is a key to understanding of nanomaterials and complex systems. While scanning probe microscopy (SPM) has been the workhorse of nanoscale metrology, its slow scanning speed by a single probe tip can limit the application of SPM to wide-field imaging of 3D complex nanostructures. Both electron microscopy and optical tomography allow 3D imaging, but...

Three-dimensional time-resolved optical mammography of the uncompressed breast.

Optical tomography is being developed as a means of detecting and specifying disease in the adult female breast. We present a series of clinical three-dimensional optical images obtained with a 32-channel time-resolved system and a liquid-coupled interface. Patients place their breasts in a hemispherical cup to which sources and detectors are coupled, and the remaining space is filled with a hi...

Three-dimensional, time-resolved motion of the coronary arteries.

BACKGROUND Coronary artery motion can decrease image quality during coronary magnetic resonance angiography and computed tomography coronary angiography. PURPOSE To characterize the three-dimensional motion of the coronary arteries along the entire vessel length and to identify the temporal location and duration of periods of relatively low cardiac motion in patients with coronary artery dise...

Three-dimensional, time-resolved (4D) relative pressure mapping using magnetic resonance imaging.

We describe here a method for generating relative pressure maps from magnetic resonance velocity data in three spatial and one temporal dimension (4D). The relative pressure map calculated for pulsatile flow in a compliant phantom was shown to be consistent with independent pressure transducer measurements. The feasibility of performing 4D pressure mapping in vivo is also demonstrated.
